Financing:
The project is financed by the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism for 2014-2021 and the state budget under the "Local Development" Program.

Call for proposals:
The aim of the Local Development program is to strengthen social and economic cohesion in the country by improving the quality of the natural environment (especially air quality), and the accessibility and standard of living of the inhabitants of medium and small towns.
Recruitment as the part of the Local Development Program was addressed to Polish municipalities with the city status, included in the list of 255 cities indicated in the Strategy for Responsible Development. As a result of the substantive evaluation, 54 city projects were transferred to the second stage of the program. Ultimately, after a 2-year multi-stage evaluation, co-financing was awarded to 29 cities, including the Municipality of Ostrów Wielkopolski, which was ranked high, 8th.

Project implementation period: 3th quarter of 2021 – 2nd quarter of  2024

Total value: PLN 25,050,036.87

Co-financing: PLN 15,264,722.84

The goal of the project

Sustainable development of the city in the social, environmental, economic and institutional dimensions, which will improve the quality of life of present and future inhabitants of Ostrów Wielkopolski and improvement of the availability of public services.

As part of the project, a number of projects, both investment and so-called soft in the area of environmental protection, social affairs, entrepreneurship, intelligent city management will be carried out.

Goals and activities in the Local Development Plan (PRL) and the Institutional Development Plan (PRI)

Based on the available quantitative and qualitative data from many sources, a diagnosis of problems and development barriers for Ostrów Wielkopolski was prepared.

These include: data and information held by the city or other public entities (including the Local Development Monitor as an additional source of information about the applicant's situation compared to the comparative group) and local community opinion surveys.
The analysis of the data contained in the city's characteristics and in the diagnostic part made it possible to identify the main problems and development barriers of the city,  that make up its current situation.

Two documents that constitute attachments to the application for project co–financing (Local Development Plan and Institutional Development Plan) were created on the basis of the diagnosis and taking into account the opinions of entrepreneurs, students of the last grades of secondary schools, local leaders and representatives of public institutions.

The main goal of the Local Development Plan no.2: Ostrów Wielkopolski as an economic city, without barriers, family - friendly and friendly to live in,

The main goal of the Local Development Plan no.3: Ostrów Wielkopolski as an entrepreneurial city,

Main objective of  Institutional Development Plan No. 1: Ostrów Wielkopolski as a city of friendly public administration.
