25-09-2023
The exchange of bus shelters for green ones is starting! Eco-shelters will be placed on the streets: Wojska Polskiego, Gimnazjalna, Limanowskiego, and Śmigielskiego. Due to the work related to dismantling the existing bus shelters and building "green" bus shelters, there may be temporary inconveniences at the stops.
What will the "green" shelters look like? Low vegetation will appear on the roof, back, and one of the side walls of the eco-shelters. It will be year-round, including ivy. Each such stop will have a rainwater drainage system. Wooden benches will also be installed. Yellow stripes on the side wall are informational elements for visually impaired people. The investment is carried out by the company FPP ENVIRO Sp. z o.o.
In total, 12 new shelters will be installed in Ostrów Wielkopolski. The shelter exchange is the result of a task carried out in the city called: Development of low-emission public transport - construction and modernization of transport infrastructure. This task is covered by the "E-Ostrów 2050 - Ecological, Energy, Economic City" project co-financed by the funds of the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and the state budget under the Local Development program. It is thanks to this co-financing that Ostrów Wielkopolski was able to purchase 12 regular bus shelters and four "green" ones. The total cost of this task was over 460,000 Polish zlotys. In both cases, the funding amounted to 85% from the EEA funds and 15% from the state budget. The cost of purchasing 12 regular bus shelters amounted to over 224,000 Polish zlotys. Funding from the EEA was almost 191,000 zlotys, and another 34,000 zlotys came from the state budget. The cost of purchasing four "green" bus shelters is over 244,000 Polish zlotys. Funding from the EEA was over 207,000 zlotys, and the city received over 36,000 zlotys from the state budget.
